Dr. Matthew Harding
Senior Pastor
Matthew has been married to Jennifer Leigh (formerly Pickard) for 30 years. The Harding’s have two grown children (Sarai, married to Michael Smith) and (Jon, married to Danielle). Both the Harding kids and their spouses are serving in full time ministry in Texas and have made Matthew and Jennifer proud grandparents (Sutton and Lydia). The Harding’s served in College/University ministry for 20 years before moving to Texas in 2010. Matthew and Jennifer love to travel, enjoy movies and golf, and all things mountains. Matthew is from the mountains of East Tennessee and is always blessed to get to leave the beautiful people of Texas to have his soul restored in the mountains.
In 2014, when Matthew was serving on church staff in Flower Mound, he and Jennifer were asked to pray about starting a new church in the DFW area. The Lord led the Harding’s to plant the WELL Community Church, Argyle in Summer 2015 with 10 families. In these last 10 years, God has mightily blessed and grown this local church with a missional heart to reach the lost, equip the church, and send out the saints to the nations! Matthew is passionate about helping men and women know and study deeper God’s Word as they grow in discipleship to faithfully follow Jesus.
Throughout Matthew’s ministry, he has also been very involved in academics, teaching in several seminaries. Matthew holds an earned research doctorate (PhD) in Historical Theology from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary-Fort Worth, TX; a Doctor of Ministry (D.Min) from New Orleans Seminary; a Masters of Divinity degree (M.Div) from Southeastern Seminary; a Masters of Education degree (M.Ed). from the University of Arkansas; along with PhD studies in Systematic Theology at Dallas Theological Seminary. Matthew holds a B.A. in Linguistics from his Alma Mater, the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. Passionate about Biblical Counseling and serving this community, Matthew also holds a Certificate of Biblical Counseling from Southwestern and is currently the Police Chaplain for Northlake and Argyle Police.
Brent Southard
Pastor of Ministries and Staff
In 2019, the Lord called Brent and his family to The Well, where he recognized a growing need to disciple families and shepherd an expanding staff as Argyle and The Well continued to grow. As the Pastor of Ministries and Staff, Brent ensures that the pastoral and ministerial team are well cared for and supported in carrying out the Mission, Vision, and Values of The Well. Clif Kapka
Connections Pastor
Clif was called to ministry in high school and helped launch The Well as a church plant. As Connections Pastor, he oversees guest services, home groups, communications, and deacons, helping people grow deeper in their faith. Clif loves movies and spending time with his family. Taylor Morgan
Next Gen and Family Pastor
Taylor’s passion is raising up the next generation to know, love, and follow Jesus. His role supports parents as the primary disciplers of their homes while equipping students in their faith journey. Outside of ministry, Taylor enjoys adventures with his family, reading, being active, and creating art. He’s inspired by the transformative power of God’s grace in people’s lives.
Kim Holt
Director of Operations
Kim serves as the Director of Operations at The Well, where she oversees finance, events, facilities, HR, and administrative functions. Her role is focused on supporting pastors, ministers, staff, and volunteers to effectively carry out the work of ministry. She is inspired by seeing each person serve in their God-given capacity, contributing to the church functioning as the body of Christ. Women's Relational Care Minister
Amy felt called to ministry through her experiences helping women in need. Her role focuses on soul care and discipleship, guiding others toward restoration and worship. She enjoys reading, laughing, and spending time with her grown children and grandchildren. Amy is inspired by helping others close the “Gospel gap” in their daily lives. Bryan Terhune
Men's and Discipleship Minister
God radically transformed Bryan's heart, leading him to serve in ministry and helping others on their journey to know and follow Jesus. He oversees the Men’s Ministry and Discipleship Ministry, where he equips men in their faith, fosters transformative discipleship, and creates opportunities for spiritual growth and community. He is inspired by seeing lives changed and men deeply committed to the Gospel, stepping into their calling with faith and leadership within their homes and community. Chelsea Culver
Children's Minister
Chelsea is passionate about seeing kids love Jesus, understand the Gospel, and experience life transformation through His Good News. At The Well, she leads efforts to help kids grow in their love for God and others. Outside of ministry, Chelsea enjoys studying theology, going on Chick-fil-A dates with her husband, traveling, and cuddling with her cat. Chris Freeman
Women's Minister
Chris was drawn to serve at The Well because of the church’s heart for soul care, prayer, community, and flourishing. In her role, she equips women to share the Gospel, fosters mentoring and discipleship relationships, and trains leaders to reproduce their impact. Outside of ministry, Chris enjoys finding the best coffee, traveling, missions, exercising, eating healthy, and spending time laughing with her favorite people.

Christina Faught
Assistant Children's Minister
Christina began attending The Well while pregnant with her oldest son and soon found a passion for serving in the Children's Ministry as her family grew. Starting as a volunteer and later stepping into the role of Volunteer Coordinator, she now serves as the Assistant Children's Minister. In this role, she helps create engaging lessons and programming that ensure kids at The Well hear and understand the Gospel. Christina is inspired by hearing little voices sing praises to God and share the truth of His Word, knowing it impacts the next generation for Christ. Elizabeth West
Groups and Discipleship Admin
Elizabeth serves as the Groups & Discipleship Coordinator at The Well, following God’s clear calling on her life. She is passionate about helping people get connected in groups and discipleship, creating spaces where they can grow in their relationship with the Lord. Seeing individuals deepen their faith and build meaningful community is what drives her ministry. Outside of work, Elizabeth is a reader, a master of sourdough bread-making, and a Mahjong enthusiast (which, let’s be honest, makes her way cooler than she gives herself credit for). Jeff Hendricks
Outreach Ministry Coordinator
Jeff and his wife, Liz, have been part of The Well for a little over a year. After becoming covenant members, they felt a strong desire to be actively involved in the life of the church. With past experience in outreach ministry, Jeff saw God answer their prayers when the opportunity arose to lead the local outreach ministry.
In his role, Jeff helps fulfill The Well’s mission by reaching out to the local community with the love of Jesus—serving as His hands and feet and introducing others to the place where thirsty souls can meet Jesus and be restored.
Outside of ministry, Jeff works full-time in information technology and analytics and is also pursuing seminary training part-time. He enjoys attending sporting events and spending quality time with his family.
Jeff is continually inspired by the power of personal stories—especially hearing how Jesus has transformed lives in remarkable ways.

John Groves
Worship Minister
John serves as the Worship Minister at The Well, where he plans and organizes contemporary liturgy for Sunday services and other events throughout the week. He is passionate about leading and worshiping alongside God’s people, all for the glory of His great name.
With a heartfelt desire to worship and point others to Jesus, John finds inspiration in those who share this vision and are driven by a deep love for Christ. Nathan and Jeannie Johnson
Marriage Ministers
Nathan and Jeannie Johnson began serving at The Well when they were looking for a place to get involved and were asked to consider leading the Marriage Ministry. Believing that strong marriages build strong families—and strong families build strong churches—they are passionate about helping couples grow in their relationship with Christ and each other. They find great joy in seeing individuals and couples grasp God’s design for marriage and apply it to their daily lives. Outside of ministry, they love discovering fun new date night spots, engaging in family pickleball tournaments, and playing games of all kinds. Naveen Kaukantla
Minister to Indian Families
After moving to Argyle, Naveen and his family were led by God to The Well, where they quickly connected with the worship and message. Through prayer and conversations with pastors and elders, Naveen felt a clear call to serve more intentionally. He is passionate about discipling and building community, especially through the HOME Group ministry, where he invites and encourages Indian families to grow in faith and deepen their relationship with Christ.Outside of ministry, Naveen enjoys fellowship over coffee, sharing laughter, and spending quality time with others. After moving to the area with her husband, John, she found it amazing that the communications team was formed around the same time, allowing her to step into this role. Audio Visual Lead
Dan has been serving in church technology for the past 15 years and found his home at The Well while searching for a church community. After attending Discovery Well and becoming a member, he felt called to use his talents to help build and lead the Audio/Visual team. As the Sound Engineer and Production Lead, Dan is responsible for ensuring the best possible audio and visual experience for Sunday services. His passion lies in using technology to create an environment where people can encounter Christ through worship and the teaching of His Word.

Children's Ministry Crafts
Donna began serving in ministry at The Well after being encouraged by her daughter. She plays a vital role in the Pre-K ministry by leading crafts that help young children engage with God’s Word in a creative and meaningful way. Her heart for service is driven by a passion to instill God’s truth in the hearts and souls of the next generation. Outside of ministry, she enjoys spending time in her garden, finding joy in nurturing both plants and young minds.

Facilities Assistant
Luke joined The Well with a desire to work in a Christ-centered environment where he could use his skills for God’s glory. As an assistant in facility management, he believes that every gift can be used to serve a greater purpose. He enjoys learning new skills on the job and has found personal growth through weekly Bible studies. Outside of work, Luke has a passion for restoring antique farm equipment, agriculture, and off-roading. Spending time with his family is always a bonus. Sara’s desire to bless parents and children led her to join the Kids Ministry team at The Well.
